How can I stop my cat from opening closets?
One of my cats keeps opening all our closets at night. He waits until we're asleep to do this, and as soon as I sit up, he bolts. He does this to all the closets. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, except that he had a previous problem with peeing outside the litter box on clothes or blankets, and closets are where we keep these things. He stopped after we kept all these things out of his reach. We just moved. We used to have closet doors with a door knob that he couldn't open, now the doors are bifold. I don't want his pee problem to start again. Is there something we can do to stop this? (I won't be able to catch him with a spray bottle). Everybody else including our other cat sleeps at night. Why won't he?
Maybe you can place wedges under the part of the door that folds and he won't be able to open it (might be a bit of a nuisance to you though), but there is also a motion detector you can place near or in front of something that will either spray air or water at the cat. You can find them at Walmart (I've seen them there).Hope that helps!
