Rust White painted cast iron patio furniture and iron gates?

I have small areas of rust showing up on both. The Iron gate is coated but in tiny areas of the weld there are spots of rust. The furniture is coated white and the rust appears minute areas. How do I maintain?

The easiest way is with rust converter. It's a spray or brush on product that chemically converts rust into an inert primer like finish that can be painted over and prevents future rusting.
