white supremacists?
I notice a lot of hostility towards white people who are proud to be white espescially by other whites;obviously those whites suffer from "white guilt",i guess what i want to know is,why is it ok to be black,hispanic,asian,etc and proud but if you are white you have to remain silent or you will be considered a racist,ignorant nazi..I myself am multi-ethnic (mexican-irish) I happen to look more Irish than mexican,for that I have been descriminated mainly by hispanics and blacks for being white...They make the presumption that I grew up with a silver spoon,and make jokes,and comments towards me in attempt to make me feel guilty for all the short comings of there people as if i had something to do with it,all this while many of them had more fortunate up bringing than I....My father was a mexican immgrant and served in vietnam while in the army,met my mom a poor cleaning woman at his hotel while in Ireland ..my dad was a janitor while raising me...
Bottom line is you're not white, you're biracial. Now with respect to racial pride, I think it's absurd to be proud to be a specifc hue, much the same as if someone were proud to have freckles or blue eyes. It's just something you get at birth. Now, you can be proud of the Mexican culture, traditions, history, as well as those of whichever European country your mother's family comes from. I think that's more admirable than just being proud to be "white."
In the end, it's more commendable to be proud because of your achievements and contributions to the world and whether you were a morally just person than just because you're a certain shade of whatever.
